The Youth Development Strategy:
Successful Character Development
Club programs and services promote and enhance the
development of boys and girls by instilling:

A sense of competence:The feeling there is something boys and girls can do and do well.
A sense of usefulness:  The opportunity to do something of value for other people.
A sense of belonging:  A setting where young peole know they "fit" and are accepted.
A sense of power or influence:  A chance to be heard and to influence decisions.

When this strategy is fully in place, self-esteem is enhanced and an
environment is created that helps boys and girls achieve their full potential.

Boys & Girls Clubs...

Are for boys & girls Have full-time professional leadership Require no proof of good character Provide that any boy or girl can afford to belong Are for all boys and girls of any race, religion or ethnic culture Are building centered, especially designed to conduct programs Are nonsectarian Have an open door policy Have a varied and diversified program Are guidance oriented
